On one of our days strolling Buena Vista Street, a beautiful convertible was making its way to the Carthay Circle, filled with music and song.

Standing in the middle of that car was a stunning young woman with a great voice bringing the street to life.

They spilled out from the car to the center of the street, and the crowds began to gather.

The music was from those sweeter days, and filled with energy. when that young lady grabbed my hand and I was now a part of the show. She was singing “I want to be loved by you” a boa was wrapped around my neck, and I began to sing back to her.

I wont lie, I’m just a little bit of a ham, and I was having lots of fun. My wife was taking these pictures, and wasn’t able to get video running before they had her out in the street as well.

So sometime in the future, when I apply for that job at Disneyland. I’m just going to show them this page as part of my application.

And here is a Trip Tip when your watching a street shoe at Disneyland, don’t shy away if they invite you to join the show. I promise you’ll have a great time, and a great trip memory.

Thanks 5 And Dime, see ya soon.

It was Thursday March 10, 2012, a day that was forecast to be warm and sunny. Crowds were light, and our day was set to begin at the Disneyland Resort. We went through the gates, made our way through the ‘Tunnel”. When I said to my wife. ? let’s see if the the Lilly Belle is running today. So we climbed the stairs to the Main Street Station, entered in, and there standing in front of us were two conductors waiting to help us. I asked if it would be possible for us to take a ride in the Lilly Belle, and was quickly asked “when would you like to take your trip”? We set our journey up for 11:00 and I couldn’t wait, but we did have about 35 minutes till our departure. So to fill the time we made our way over to Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln. We had plenty of time to get back to the Station, and when that train pulled up and the conductor gave us our souvenir tickets, i knew that one of my dreams was about to come true.

I’d heard of others having an opportunity to take this ride, I knew that it was something anyone could do. But today it was me that was taking a ride in the very car that Walt had built for his wife Lilian. The very car that celebrities, royalty, and dignitaries from around the world, had the privilege to make the ‘Grand Circle Tour” of Disneyland, and now it was my turn. I was thrilled, I listen closely as Frank our conductor told all the details and history of the car

There was a fairly large group that was there to ride at that time, I had hoped that it would just be us, so we could have all the personal attention from the conductor,. Not to mention that it would just enhance the  “celebrity” feeling, but it was not to be this time. We made our complete trip around the Disneyland Resort, soaking up as much as we could along the way.

It really was a thrill one that I know I will do again, Thanks to our Conductor, to Walt and Lillian, and to Disneyland, for making a dream come true for a Disneyland fan.

And then it was time for dream number 2. We made our way over to the Mark Twain Riverboat, I approached the dock hands, and asked “how can I ride in the wheelhouse? can you make that happen for me?” The cast members there smiled and said “that’s easy just wait right here.”

They allowed the boat to clear all the passengers, and Captain Mary came and escorted us ahead of everyone else, to the top of the Mark Twain.

Mary was very nice, a real joy to talk Disney with. She said that she had worked for Disneyland for 6 years , and was rated to pilot both of the large ships, the Mark Twain as well as the Columbia. on the Rivers of America. She was full of information, and made us feel right at home.

She allowed the kids, and me to ring the bell and blow the whistle.

The view from the top of the Mark Twain was great, providing a very different experience,as we made our journey.

And when it was all done, Captain Mary presented us with our Pilots Certificate, and took our picture at the wheel.

The entire experience is one I will never forget, and one that I will do again. But for this little boy it was 1 Disney day filled with 2 Disney dreams come true. And now you know how to make it happen for you too!

ALL ABOARD!
