The creative folks at Disneyland don’t just put on a fireworks show, they put on an extravaganza filled with music, story line, and imagination. All perfectly time and choreographed into an experience that you will never forget,or find anywhere else on earth. When the Disneyland Obsession Crew begins to plan for a trip to Disneyland, the first thing we do is check thecalendar for the days we would like to go to the park, making sure that at least one of the days will include Fantasmic and/or the Fireworks over the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Many people have their favorite place to view the Fireworks, and stake a claim on that spot early. But for us, it’s great fun anywhere along Main Street USA. Some locations have trees that may block part of your view, but the Disneyland crews work hard at keeping the tree height down to not block the guest view of the Castle or Fireworks. The Fireworks display takes place from many different directions, so your sure to see most of the burst no matter where you sit or stand. Many of the park benches in front of the castle are claimed early, but on one of those quiet days at the park you could get lucky and find yourself sitting right up front.
The Disneyland Obsession crew has viewed the Fireworks from those very benches, part way down Main Street USA, from the left side of the Castle, and once even from behind the Castle. The location behind the Castle gives you a totally different experience. From that location you can not hear the music or see the lighting on the Castle change along with the music. Instead you are treated to the full percussion of each mortar shells as they explode right over your head. This is something that should only be tried after you have seen the show as it is really intended to be viewed, the front of the Castle. Heres a video I took a while back, it will gives you an idea of what to expect, the show really is Magical. At the end of the video you’ll get an idea of just how many people enjoy the Nighttime Fireworks at Disneyland, it’s a packed house!
Speaking of Magical, that’s the name of the new night time Fireworks Show being presented this summer at the Disneyland Resort. With all new music and effects I’m positive it will be a big hit.
