I just spent the morning looking over a website I found, that focuses on the Disneyland Hotel. It’s called
http://magicalhotel.blogspot.com/
It’s filled with vintage photos, fliers, brochures, and history from the original Disneyland Hotel, including the shops, restaurants and grounds from the beginning of construction, through all the transformations the Hotel area has seen. It’s informative and interesting, and for someone with a Disneyland Obsession, a great deal of fun. so grab a cup of coffee and stop by and check it out.
With the passing of the actor Fess Parker, I am taken back to my childhood memories of watching a strong independent man Taming the wild west. And doing it all with honor and courage. Any time that Daniel Boone was on I was there, in front of the television, soaking up every image, and singing the song.
Another of his unforgettable roles was as Davy Crockett, A frontiersman displaying the same qualities of Daniel Boone. Disney and Fess Parker brought these two men to life, and a nation of kids learned what it was to lived life in the early days of America.
Fess Parker as Daniel Boone was an ideal role model for children all across America and around the world. His character showed that anything was possible with hard work and integrity. We could use more role models like this today. Good Bye Daniel Boone, Good Bye Fess Parker.
