If you want to know what to expect when you next visit Disney’s California Adventure Park, and line up to see the New World of Color water show, the folks at Disney are giving you a chance to see the show at home. In this video rendition you’ll get a great idea of the work that has been going on behind the scene all these months. Heres the link enjoy
styled after the original Disneyland Sign, which will be 26 feet high and include 187 feet of slide before reaching the water. It will be a fun filled addition to one of the most popular Hotels in the Disneyland Resort. Included in the remodel will be a new footbridge over a new pool area for the little ones.
While all of this is exciting news, I for one am sad that much of the beautiful gardens and Koi ponds, waterfalls and walks will disappear. These Hotel feature have been some of my personal favorites. On some of my trips to Disneyland, I plan an afternoon visit to the Lost Bar for a cold one. And stroll through the garden area just to visit the Koi Ponds. Some of those Koi are incredible, and it will be sad to see them go. But the Disney folks always do incredible thing, when the undertake a new project so I am sure that I will approve of the finished product.
Just for grins I will share some of the photos I have of the current garden areas, it may be the last chance to see them before they are gone.
As mentioned before, with the Hotel undergoing radical changes to the garden area, questions were raised about the hundreds of Koi that made their home in the ponds at the Disneyland Resort Hotel pond. Disney has just announced on the Disney Parks Blog, that all of the fish have been donated to the The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California. I glad that the fish have a beautiful new home, but I am still saddened that Disney didn’t find a home for them at one of their properties.
The Disneyland Hotel has gone through many changes over the years, many of those changes have taken place in and around the Pool. For a look at some of those change , check out my post a Disneyland Hotel A Look Back In Time.
