Another one of my favorite scenes from the Disney California Adventure Park. I love this area at night, with all the lights and activities, all reflecting on the water, its beautiful! This photo was taken  Oct. 23, 2010 by E.O. in the Park. This was her first trip during the Halloween season, and now she says that it is her favorite time of year to visit the Disneyland Resort. During her visit she attended the Halloween Party, reports that it was great fun for everyone in the family.

The Gullywhumper Keel boat beached on the Rivers of America, is now only a remnant of days gone by. When I was a kid and made my very first visit to Disneyland, I rode the Keel Boats around the river, exploring the scenes presented along the waters edge. For me it was a better way to travel the Rivers of America, because you were down at eye level with everything. It made this child’s imagination work overtime, wondering how life would have been living on the river. Maybe that was the seed that grew into my actually living on a 36′ Gibson Houseboat for almost 4 years, on the Sacramento River, it was truly a wonderful adventure.

On one of our first trips to Disneyland, we were of course blessed with those early morning tickets to Toontown. Our daughter was determined to get in and explore that little cartoon village. The entire morning event was great fun for kids and adults, after all we became Honorary Citizens of Toontown, and then we set about getting autographs from all the characters, as well as tour Mickey and Minnie’s homes, and ride the rides and climb around everything. My little drama queen decided a nap in Minnie’s house was something that she needed, and we caught this photo. If you get a chance check out Toontown, you’ll have a great time, and maybe capture a moment like this.
